On turning 50
Thoughts on getting older.
At fifty, I thought I would have more answers and fewer questions. At fifty, I thought I would cry less and laugh more.
At fifty, I thought Life would get easier as I got older At fifty, I thought Life would get calmer the more I knew
Getting older, aging well Art, wine, joy Getting older, dying slowly Sun, Earth, Moon
Getting older, loving well Family, friends, Christ Getting older, trusting slowly Sorrow, pain, joy
Fewer breaths to breathe than have already been More aware of the providence of his plan Most secure than I have ever been Finally home one day with him.

That third stanza, where the poem turns, is a whole world unto itself. What good words, Sam.
